Shelley Lingman - Australian Rugby Union
Listen now
Description
This is Shelley Lingman. Mother of three and Australia's first female coach and selector for the Australian Women's Rugby Union team. Shelley started coaching up in far North Queensland to a newly formed Women's team. She instilled discipline and professionalism as a level of expectation to all of her players.  Her time as a coach evolved and Shelley became the first Woman in Australia to complete her Level 3 Coaching.  Hear Shelley's journey in Rugby Union, from coaching in small town Darwin, to excusing herself from the boardroom at the ARU in Sydney so she could breastfeed her baby. One of the strongest points raised in this podcast is that any Woman can achieve what they set out to do in sport if they have the right support and right attitude in check.
