Colin Deeds is a native of Arizona and a two time graduate of the University of Arizona; BA in Anthropology (2005) and MA in Latin American Studies (2007). Dr. Durán-Cerda was born and raised into a bilingual, multicultural family of dedicated educators: she is Chilean (father), Mexican-American (mother) and American by birth. Her number one priority is her students and that they not only learn the Spanish language but also gain an appreciation for individuals of different cultures, races and ethnicities. Javier D. Durán, Associate Professor of Spanish and Border Studies, is a specialist in cultural and literary studies along the U.S.-Mexico border. He is a native of the Arizona-Sonora desert region.
