“Love love love this podcast! Lauren and Nico are funny as the dickens, and always really come in having done their research, and done in beautifully--I was in Sunday School for many a year, and I always learn something about translation, history, culture, interepretation, etc., which is new and interesting (and catnip to my history nerd heart!) They are both also charmingly, consistently feminist, and offer uncompromising takedowns of the many uglinesses in the Bible about women, inequality, and violence. I am making this lovely pod sound dreary, but (while it takes sexism and injustice as seriously as they should, of course, be taken) it is the exact opposite--it is all things funny and engaging, without fail. An atheist and a non-believer, the hosts are nonetheless never unkind or disrespectful to believers. (Just folks who use religion to justify cruelty, inequality, etc.) I'm a (pinko) Christian, and couldn't love this pod more. Keep up the wonderful, insightful, funny feminist work!”Read full review »
