Becoming a Struggle
This used to be a fantastic podcast. Damon, in particular, really knows his stuff and the old Purocast played a big part in helping me get into New Japan. When Joel replaced Colin it looked like they were going to get even better and it became one of my favourite podcasts. Sadly, it's becoming unlistenable as they slowly vanish up their own backsides. They've become a pair of critics who hate to be criticised. Give them an opportunity to talk about how they'll always critique New Japan and they will leap on it gleefully, but when someone dares to provide them with some feedback? Then the toys come out of the pram. Meanwhile, they're whining about the fact the company doesn't want to take them on-board in a more official capacity. I wonder why? This podcast can still be great, particularly when they're talking about wrestling, but it's starting to feel like they are on a path towards self-destruction. Those who vibe with the hosts might scoff and disagree and fair enough, to each their own. But the fast-forward key has become an essential part of my listens.Read full review »

I've been listening since day one. On of the most entertaining podcast about wrestling out there. Covers NJPW better then anyone out there today. It's a no brainer. Download. Listen. Concur. Repeat.Read full review »

Damon and Joel have great banter about many topics and have awesome analysis of new japan wrestling action. Great podcast and I always look forward to its release every week.
