“Listen, I get it. Picking a new podcast can be scary. "Another survivor podcast?" you might say, and to you I say YES, it is another Survivor podcast, and I am very sorry but you have to listen to it. I know, I know, you only have but 1 life on this Earth, but you have to spend a sizable percentage of it listening to these two ladies talking about 22 year old reality tv stars and which would be played by Meryl Streep vs Bea Arthur.
These two hosts are phenomenal. They are fun, loony, so incredibly compassionate, and listening to them feels like I get to eavesdrop on two of my coworkers in the break-lounge who have hilarious opinions about a show I'm also watching but I'm too afraid to sit at their table. You could listen to a thousand podcasts where people are interviewing champs, breaking moments down into sports-like strategic play-by-plays and making Colby fan fiction, but what is truly unique about this show is the sincere enthusiasm and heart for the little moments and interactions that above all else make Survivor a social experiment. They make such effort to not judge someone by their politics or future actions beyond the show- unless and until someone is harmed by it. They seek out the best in each contestant, which in many seasons is harder said than done. This is a Lillian Morris safe space.
"Look, being an annoying person is hard." is a phrase I want tattooed across my chest now.
I don't know what else I can say, it's my favorite podcast of all time. I wish there was more I could do to support them. I don't know how alogorithms with podcasts or whatever work, but seeing that there's only 26 reviews on Itunes at the time of my writing this fills me with a chilling realization that we truly need to do better as a society.
To the hosts of the show I say this: Please don't change a single thing, you are doing great. I love you very much and you are such constellations. However much feedback you get from listeners, just know that you are being heard. I look forward to hearing you every week, and I feel like I am a kinder, softer person from having listened to your insights. Just know that if ever I get cast on Survivor, I will be name-dropping your show non-stop.
Trish from Cagayan would be played by Toni Collette.”Read full review »

“This podcast was surprisingly hard to find, I must’ve searched for survivor podcasts a dozen times before I stumbled upon this one. I’m incredibly glad that I did though, it’s very funny, and I’ve listened to 12 seasons of it in the past 3 weeks.
It has a perspective no other podcast I’ve found...”Read full review »
