The best RP with action and a story to keep you engaged. Holds up to multiple listens

This podcast is beautifully done. I have listened through all of Swallows of the South and now Arms of the Tide. Each stands up to multiple listens. This show navigates collaborative story telling via audio formats better than any other live play shows I have listened to. Well done to these folks.

Fun take on Exalted, you can feel the storytellers love for the franchise.

Review based on the titular Swallows of the South series. Swallows of the South is a podcast with a high production value. The episodes are very focused on character interactions and gameplay, with little to no dead air or out-of-character banter. All participants have some good voice acting...Read full review »

So I’m long time listener of the Orpheus podcast and have been meaning to listen to this. I am so glad I did! It is phenomenally hilarious. Thank you all for the work you put on this.

I loved Swallows of the South and Arms of the Tide continues this excellence. Fantastic and most excellent.

This actual play podcast is very dedicated to characterizations of it's player characters, but is also fun and apporachable for folks new to Exalted 3rd Ed. As this podcast is episodic it is best to start from the very beginning and just power you way through so as not to get lost in the...Read full review »

Title says it all but I'll just say it here again: Quinn is the best, has a lovely voice AND is very thoughtful and creative! One of the first APs I listened to when I got into the community and I couldn't have started stronger.Read full review »

But the best Exalted podcast you can listen to. This is not the story of power fantasy fulfillments, where people are Exalted to mow armies. This is a very dramatic, intense story about power, liberty, community, imperialism, and the will to change and step aside the temptation of an easy path....Read full review »

After listening to one complete season of the backlog, I am very impressed with this AP. The players are all strong improvisers that find a great balance between working jokes into their scenes and keeping the narrative focus on the characters and the way they develop. Also, the level of editing...Read full review »

It’s so refreshing to see a podcast dedicated to such a seemingly esoteric and underestimated game. All of the players seem to have a genuine love for the game, and that really comes across in the show. Keep up the good work! I’d be interested to see where the show goes in the future.

In the absence of anything else to listen to, I actually ended up listening to a fair bit more of this podcast, and even though I still think the game would be better if played less like a joke, I am beginning to find this particular joke to be quite funny. It helps not to think of it as...Read full review »

Swallos of the South is up there with the best actual play podcasts out there. Good dramatic moments mixed in with hilarity using the Exalted ruleset. Love it to bits.

This podcast is an incredible actual play and is one of my very favorites. Not only does it showcase a lot of what makes Exalted so cool, it is a great study in DM technique and how to get yourself and players out of binds, and how to deal with a thoroughly unlikeable major character without...Read full review »

Exalted is a very difficult system to use and an especially difficult system to use for an Actual Play podcast. Regardless, Swallows knocks it out of the park. Battle scenes are never boring, instead they are a special work of art that I look forward to. Download it. Listen to it. All of it....Read full review »

I'm almost done with the first Arc, and I had to make sure more people knew about this show. The characters are quirky deep. You'll learn about them and they'll learn about themselves. Do yourself a favor and listen to some Demi-God anime-style fights.Read full review »

I found this show through some members guesting on The Orpheus Protocol. I thought “wow they were great on TOP, I’ll check their show.” I couldn’t be more happy I did. Great Exalted actual play show. First of all, it's an original game setting for a podcast show. Then the production level is very high (I love the music), the cast has great chemistry, the story is both EPIC and emotional at the level of each individual characters!

Swallows of the South follows a well-worn formula: get a bunch of people, sit em round a table, and start roleplaying. Hi! Big fan of what you're doing here, Exalted us an amazing RPG and your players all seem like talented improvisors, which is cool, but i can't help but feel that only the storyteller remotely understands the setting.
