“I don't want to be too hard on this podcast because it's brand new and surely will improve, but I won't be subscribing. I'm a huge fan of Sword & Scale, which I would rate as a 11/10 but "Rewind" missed the mark.
There's two big reasons I won't be subscribing.
(1) The episodes are disorganized
The episodes take a "jump in" approach topics and often have to circle back to the same topic several times and repeat the same point.
Also, the hosts need to briefly recap the case at the beginning of the episode. S&S fans listened to these episodes a long time ago, so a brief recap would be helpful. It also helps to organize the episode which so far are very disjointed and sound disorganized.
(2) The hosts
The female hosts are "head-nodders". Meaning, when a person is speaking, they indicate "I'm listening" or "I agree" by nodding their head and repeatedly saying, "yeah", "mhmm", "uh-huh", "yup". This might be ok in conversation but it's incredibly distracting and unnecessary for an audio podcast.
Lastly, the hosts talk over each other. You've got to find ways of communicating in a way that's not painful for the listeners.”Read full review »
