A New Standard In True Crime Podcasting
I know this is early, but by the end of the first two episodes I realized the bar has been raised to previously unthinkable heights with Sworn. Much like Up and Vanished Sworn is a combination of outstanding investigation and a strict adherence to preserving the dignity of the victims. In addition, there is a facts come first ethic that shines through from the opening segment of the first episode. Too many podcasts, especially in the unsolved true crime genre, bring a narrative to the story rather than letting the story tell itself. In Sworn I found a podcast where the story itself is the subject of the podcast, not the opinions, theories, or speculative musings of the podcaster. At the same time, the story of the case is told in a compelling narrative style that leaves me wanting more episodes, and justice for the victims, immediately. I can't recommend this podcast enough. Truly outstanding work, and this is the sort of format, facts over fiction, dignity over sensationalization, all true crime podcasts should aim for. Some may think this premature but I truly believe Sworn is the gold standard in true crime Podcasting.Read full review »

Love listening to a Philip! His review of the Justin Ross Harris trial on Court Chatter was so helpful. He explains the lawyer side so we can understand. So excited he has his own show.
