“The past couple of years, I have struggled with an eating disorder and have been a revolving door patient in every treatment center and program. When I found Kate on YouTube she was the first person I saw LIVING recovery. It was impossible for me to apply therapeutic tools to my own life when I had never seen them in practice. Kate’s authenticity and openness during her recovery was like a breath of fresh air for me as I tried to navigate my own journey. I have been in outpatient care for almost a year and have had Take the Cake episodes on rotation since I stepped down. I listen to at least one episode a day (even if they are repeats) and this podcast has helped me transition to having less support by serving as a gentle reminder to KEEP GOING. I have missed a lot of school due to treatment and this time last year, thought I would never finish high school or have to repeat another year. I will be graduating high school this week and going off the college this fall. But what inspired me to write this review is that I got my period last night after suffering with amenorrhea for the past four years. I genuinely do not think this all would be possible without Kate and other positive recovery influencers being beautiful, living, breathing examples of what life can be like without an eating disorder. Thank you Kate.”
