“I have to admit it took me a minute to adjust to a slight smooth-talk-radio sound, but then I realized the host is refreshingly respectful and does a ton of research, which disarms and brings out deeper answers in his interviewees. So far, I’ve listened to his interviews with Claudia Rankine, Gloria Steinem, Carol Burnett, and Norman Lear, and you can tell they are all grateful for the depth and heart of the questions. He asks honest questions that, for example, many white male interviewers skirt around with guests—race, gender, LGBT issues, world events, etc. Now I hear that smooth vocal style as kind rather than performative—highly recommended!”
