“This show has completely fallen off in a year’s time. This goes back to even before Broaddus left. When they shortened the show to 45 minutes it lost a lot of content value; all of a sudden after the first segment of Bill Jones’ TV host BS which brings nothing, and them making a 10 minute ordeal out of Mickey’s ad read at the end, it’s become 50% fluff on a good day. It's gotten to the point where they almost forget to pick games on Fridays because they're running out of time.
BB used to keep the company man homerism of Bill and Mickey in check, and now that's gone. I like Everson Walls for the insiders' insight and experiences he can bring, but all it takes is one mention of his playing days and they spend 20 minutes on irrelevant things from the past. Rob is the best personality on the show, but you can tell Spags is just there bc he has to be, and Bill brings little to the table unless you have a fondness for finding ways to tie things back to high school sports.
DC.com stretches itself too thin with all the podcasts. If you pulled Rob, Helman, and Eatman together into one show, and toss in a former player like Everson or Church you might actually have something. The Break is unlistenable thanks to Ambar and HWTB is like a David Koechner sketch gone wrong.”Read full review »
