“I’ve been an avid reader of CR for many years, but I was perplexed by a couple of things in a recent podcast episode. One of the hosts, Mike, identified the Prius (the 2024 MotorTrend Car of the Year) as the worst car he tested this year. But the current issue of CR gives the Prius a strong score of 80, and it also identifies the Prius as the most reliable car in its category. I know the opinion is just one person’s, but that person works for CR. It’s a bad look to have the publication’s opinion differ so starkly from one of CR’s auto experts.
Also, the hosts praise the Honda CR-V Hybrid’s reliability in the episode. But the current issue of CR notes that the CR-V Hybrid is one of the least reliable cars in its category.
These contradictions between the publication and the podcast cause me to question the credibility of both.”
