“I normally enjoy TP as a fairly balanced (although somewhat left-leaning), thoughtful podcast. “Police State USA”, was, however, pretty dire. Giving far left “street activists” an uncritical platform to air their loopy views and utilise their sly euphemisms (“de-arrested”? “Street organisations”? Did he mean “gangs”?) was quite the disappointment, however. By all means, bring on interesting guests, but it’d be nice to see that counterbalanced by a different perspective or at least challenged. My hunch is that there’s about 0% chance of abolishing the police in the USA (or indeed anywhere), so why indulge it so uncritically?
Anyway. Normally this is an interesting Pod, and Helen Thompson (absent this episode) can typically be relied upon to offer an alternative viewpoint.”
