The seal on Vaati's prison seems to be weakening, but when Zelda and the Six Maidens open the portal to the Four Sword Sanctuary, they are each imprisoned by Link's shadowy doppleganger. Pulling the Four Sword from its plinth, the now divided Link pursues the Maidens while Vaati's vengeful presence is unleashed upon Hyrule once again.

The third episode of the Legend of Zelda Animated Series, The White Knight, brings a guest to Hyrule! Prince Facade of Arcadia comes to impress Zelda with tales of his heroic deeds. Enamored with this newcomer, Zelda is kinda mean to Link, leading to him leaving the castle altogether. But when the day needs saving, Link comes back just in the nick of time to save Zelda from Ganon's clutches. I mean, come on, it's not like the guy named "Facade" is gonna be doing any hero-ing.

Link and Midna enter the Hyrule Castle throne room to confront Ganondorf and save Zelda. Ganondorf’s dark power is terrible to behold. But Link prevails with the help of Midna’s strength, Zelda’s light arrows, and the Master Sword. Ganondorf is defeated and Link says goodbye to the Twilight Princess.

Midna breaks the magical barrier surrounding Hyrule Castle. Link impresses King Bulblin in a final confrontation and wins his respect. Inside the Castle, Link runs through corridors and battlements as fearsome enemies try to stop his progress but is helped by some old friends.

Link travels to the Palace of Twilight in pursuit of Zant. Using light-energy from Sol orbs, Link is able to power platforms and cut through spooky Zant Masks and shadow-crystal fog. In the throne room, Zant pulls Link into an increasingly manic battle which takes place inside previous dungeons. The Fused Shadow pieces are returned to Midna and she strikes at Zant in anger.

Link navigates up, over, and around the wind-swept maze of the Oocca city in the Sky. Kargoroks, Aeralfos, Dinolfos, Deku Babas, Helmasaurus, and the formidable Argorok do their best to stop Link’s trek to find the Mirror Shard. But, with an extra Clawshot in-hand and friendly Peahats galore, they are no match for Link.

Link learns that the key to the Sky is connected to Ilia’s lost memories. After tracing Ilia’s path, Link enters the Hidden Village where a lone Sheikah woman named Impaz lives waiting for "the messenger to the Sky". After saving her from a band of Bulblins and showing her the Dominion Rod, she gives Link an Ancient Sky Book which holds the key to the Sky Cannon. With the expertise of Shad and Fyer, Link is ready to launch to the Sky!

Link enters a winding stone structure filled with statues, references to the Sages, and all manner of puzzles. Link faces off with the formidable Darknut who guards the dungeon’s treasure - the Dominion Rod. Using this new item, Link unlocks the path to Armogohma and the mirror shard it protects.

Link and Midna make their way back to Faron Woods where Rusl tells them an ancient power resides. Goaded through Lost Woods again by Skull Kid’s mean marionettes, Link returns to the Sacred Grove and uses the Master Sword to unlock a doorway to the distant past and, deep within, the entrance to the Temple of Time.

Link navigates the crumbling structure of Snowpeak Ruins with the help of the Ball and Chain, Yeto’s soup, and the well-meaning directions of Yeta. After finding the Mirror Shard, the ailing Yeta peers into it and is transformed into the fearsome Twilit Ice Mass, Blizzeta. Link defeats Blizzeta, returning Yeta to her true form, and the Yeti couple are reunited and their love is rekindled.

In search of a piece of the Mirror of Twilight, Link finds Ashei on Snowpeak mountain, armed with a mystery to solve: a large monster has been spotted grabbing Reekfish from Zora’s Domain and carrying it up the mountain – no one can follow the creature without getting lost in the blizzard. Link catches the potent Reekfish and learns its sent in order to locate the beast. At the end of the trail is a friendly Yeti who knows where to locate the first mirror shard.

The haunted chambers of the Arbiter's Grounds hint at a darker side to Hyrule's history. Among the decay and otherworldly apparitions, Link contends with Big Poes, wandering hordes of Stalkin, lumbering Gibdo, and the fearsome Death Sword. Back at Telma’s Bar in Hyrule Castle Town, Link finds Rusl among the members of a secretive group trying to restore peace to Hyrule. Informed of troubling developments in Gerudo Desert, Link is instructed by another member, Auru, to investigate the condemned prison there. Arriving safely by cannon, Link and Midna find a formidable force of Bulblins fortified at the entrance to the prison. Link is forced to fight and defeat King Bulbin in one-on-one combat in order to enter the Arbiter's Grounds.

Link races through and underneath Hyrule Castle Town to bring an ailing Midna to Princess Zelda. Reunited, Zelda urges Link to find the Master Sword in the Sacred Grove then heals Midna by passing her life force to her and vanishing in the process. Midna and Link find their way to the Sacred Grove in Faron Woods and are led and coaxed through winding paths by Skull Kid. Link swims into Lake Hylia and explores the Lakebed Temple. Within its cavernous walls Link battles against a giant Deku Toad and is rewarded with the Claw Shot. New item in hand, Link faces Morpheel and emerges triumphant, gaining the final Fused Shadow Piece. Just as things seem to be going their way, Zant appears at Lanayru’s Spring, mortally wounds Midna and traps Link in wolf-form once again. The Light Spirit whisks them to safety and urges Link to find Princess Zelda once more.

Honoring Queen Rutela's request, Link returns to the ailing Prince Ralis currently being cared for at Telma's Bar. While the young Prince is stable for the moment, he needs proper care that can only be found in Kakariko Village. Link quickly discovers that Ilia has somehow lost her memory, but agrees to help her escort the prince safely across Hyrule field. Her son safe under Renado's care, the spirit of Queen Rutela bestows the Zora Armor on Link, allowing him access to the Lakebed Temple.

Episode two of the Legend of Zelda Animated Series, titled Cold Spells, brings us back to Hyrule on a sunny spring day. Zelda has enlisted everyone to help clean the castle but, Link being Link, tries to get out of it. According to the rules of television, this makes everything infinitely more complex for just about everybody, so much so that Ganon manages to secure the Triforce of Wisdom for one fleeting moment.

Link finds Ilia closely guarding a sick young Zora in Hyrule Castle Town, gets a ride from a Shadow Kargarok taxi, battles a giant insect, defrosts Zora’s Domain, and meets a ghostly Queen Rutela. The Light Spirit Lanayru grants Link an eerie vision depicting dark interlopers who corrupted the Spirit Realm in their attempt to harness the power of the Triforce. Link is warned about the corrupting powers of their dark magic.
