They mentioned Wood Harris who plays Avon Barksdale in The Wire playing a part in the movie. Wonder if they realize Michael B Jordan is in The Wire as well...anyway great podcast!

This was my first time listening to your Podcast and I am your newest fan! I love how you take a moment from a movie as the basis for a discussion about the teaching profession. You bring up some really great discussion points and it's authentic that you don't have the same opinion!...Read full review »

I can’t say that I’m a consistent listener but whenever I do listen in —like today— on a road trip —when I heard the episode on blackfish ... I’m not only getting a great movie to think about showing my kids( and/or watching myself !) I get a quick connection to some great ideas around parenting...Read full review »

Love the fun way they tie movies and tv to current educational topics. Also, they seem so relatable and even make fun of themselves. It’s a nice way to learn more on a variety of topics.

While every episode of this podcast has entertained me, renewed my love of education, and given me food for thought, there is one thing that has come up that I would like to challenge. Singing. Multiple times Weston has broken out in song after which both Weston and Molly apologize to the...Read full review »

It’s the fork used to dig into the meat of needed conversation about education (practice and passion) and its the spoon used to indulge into the guilty pleasures that are the best of pop culture (past and present). It’s both a blessing and a curse to start looking at my favorite movie and tv...Read full review »

Any podcast that uses the phrase "a lot of juice to squeeze" in the first minute is a good podcast for me. The hosts are a husband and wife who are articulate and I appreciate that they do their research, making the it more interesting than all the podcasts that just wing it.Read full review »
