I’m so glad my 17th Great grandmother Pocahontas is getting the recognition she deserves and you are sharing her true story. Thank you so much! It really means so much to my family. as a kid, I loved the movie, Pocahontas, but it bothers me now, because it’s so inaccurate. I can’t thank you...Read full review »

Thank you sooo much for sharing!! There so much I just didn’t know. I really appreciate your honesty!! Silly question maybe… but are people able to go to the reservations and experience the culture?

This podcast is very well done. Listening to these stories should be mandatory for all Canadians. Horrifying and hard to face the facts, yes, but profoundly important for us all to listen and say a prayer or two for those innocent souls who suffered crimes against humanity. Say prayers for the...Read full review »

As the child of Puerto Rican parents I hunger for any knowledge of native peoples. Puerto Rico is a “territory” of the United States. Our native peoples language culture bloodlines were all but wiped out as happened in all Caribbean islands. You would be lucky to find even 12-10 percent of...Read full review »

Thank you for creating and sharing this podcast: the words of the many interviewees and the host, Kaniehti:io Horn, are an absolute must listen for any (especially non-indigenous) Canadian .

I appreciate the time the people who spoke and took time to explain and share their point of view, their past and how they live! I hope there will be more!

Many of the titles don’t reflect the story, for example, the topic ‘Names’ has nothing to do with names 🤷‍♀️ I don’t understand why. Each episode is well Done & informative, I just feel that I’m missing some of the other ones because they’ve been mislabeled or something.

This podcast usefully explores how the language we use shapes our thinking. It demonstrates how in Canada, we (white settlers) have used words to oppress and disempower indigenous peoples. This podcast reminds us to stop and really consider the meaning of the words we use. Changing the way we...Read full review »

This series reveals the false narrative that is reinforced in textbooks and the culture at large. However, it is ironic that the when rap/hip music is used, it’s African origins are not mentioned. Amazing that one side of a people’s history is corrected while another people’s contribution is...Read full review »

I am overwhelmed by this series. Such a thoughtful narrative…to listen and learn. I was wondering if you could address the word “squaw “, if you feel comfortable. This word has made me feel sad. There are so many colonial “experts “ who diminish . Thank you for your empathy.
