Finding humor and solace in tragedy and triumph
Nora’s perspective on life, death, and the triumphs/tragedies that define us along the way makes TTFA a weekly highlight for me. Her calming voice and uncompromising examination of difficult topics that most people would prefer to leave untouched serve to provide inspiration for those of us who might be struggling to persevere on our own. From the simple yet centering chords of the theme music to the often impossibly painful yet incredibly important conversations presented with the utmost poise and grace, TTFA is a spectacular production and should be required listening for anyone who has ever struggled in life (i.e. everyone). Listening to TTFA, I’m often reminded of Mary Schmich's advice - “Don't worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4 PM on some idle Tuesday. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance; so are everybody else’s. Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts, and recycling it for more than it's worth.”Read full review »

Not everyone is willing to go to that deep, dark, difficult place that exists within all of us, but Nora is and I can't thank her enough. I'm very much looking forward to more episodes.Read full review »
