ದಖನಿ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿನ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಭಾಷೆ. ನಮಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವರಿಗೆ ಇದರ ಪರಿಚಯವಿದ್ದರೂ ಇದರ ಹೆಸರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕತೆಯ ಅರಿವಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಆಂಧ್ರ ಪ್ರದೇಶ, ತೆಲಂಗಾಣ, ತಮಿಳು ನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಾರಾಷ್ಟ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಚಲಿತವಿರುವ ಉರ್ದು ಭಾಷೆಯ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಭೇದ. ದಖನಿಗೆ 600 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದ್ದು, ತನ್ನದೇ ಆದ ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಝಬಿವುಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ಶಾಂತಕುಮಾರ ಪಾಟೀಲ್ ರವರು ನಮ್ಮ 31ನೇ ಕಂತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ದಖನಿ, ಅದರ ಇತಿಹಾಸ, ಉರ್ದು ಭಾಷೆಗಿಂತ ಅದು ಹೇಗೆ ಭಿನ್ನ ಮತ್ತು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗಾದೆಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಮತ್ತು ಪವನ್ ಶ್ರೀನಾಥ್ ರವರ ಜೊತೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಝಬಿವುಲ್ಲಾ ರವರು ಚೆನ್ನಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉರ್ದು ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು. ಪ್ರೊಫೆಸರ್ ಶಾಂತಕುಮಾರ್ ರವರು ಬೀದರ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಚಿತಗುಪ್ಪ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಥಮ ದರ್ಜೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕನ್ನಡ ಪ್ರಾಧ್ಯಾಪಕರು. ಝಬಿವುಲ್ಲಾ ರವರು ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಷ್ಟೇ 'ದಖನಿ ಕಹಾವತೆ' ಎಂಬ ಗಾದೆಗಳ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವನ್ನು ಉರ್ದು ಲಿಪಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶೀಘ್ರವೇ ಅದು ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದೆ. ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಖರೀದಿಸಲು ಇಚ್ಛಿಸುವವರು [email protected] ಗೆ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸಬಹುದು. Dakhni is one South India's major languages, but many of us don't even know the language by name. A language spoken in parts of Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra, Dakhni has a 600+ year history of literature, traditions and widespread use.
