Reveals the hidden complexity
This podcast is excellent! When I started listening last year, I couldn't stop. I've listened to all of the episodes -- while driving to work, cooking dinner, folding laundry, taking walks. Here's why I am hooked: (1) No political agenda. The past year has seen a burst of on-line abortion story-telling around the world. But most of the blogs and videos sort neatly into opposing political perspectives. This podcast is rare oral history that fills in the vast uncharted territory between the right v. wrong. (2) No sanitized editing. If you like your truth trimmed and shaped like a Disney World hedge, don't listen. But tune in often if you long to hear people as if they are sitting at your kitchen table opening up to you about one of humanity's most stigmatized experiences. (3) No intrusive interviewer. Each speaker is granted the dignity to share freely without being prodded or herded by a continuing line of questioning. (4) A safe community. I've had an abortion and experienced the isolation. The voices of these women and men give me the human connection that I've missed all of my life. The podcasts lift the curtain of silence that has hidden these intimate realities of the human condition for far too long. I'm so grateful!Read full review »
