It's Not Fair That Every Single McElroy Is So Funny
My Brother, My Brother and Me, the podcast that this found its genesis in, has been my favorite podcast for a while now, and I look forward to every Monday fervently. When they did the pilot for the Adventure Zone, I was wary at first, in the past I have found listening to even people I like a lot play D&D very very dull, but I gave it a chance because if there are any humans on Earth who can enliven it, they are the McElroys. I was mostly vindicated; the episode definitely has some unease to it as the foursome get acclimated to both what they can actually do within the constraints of the game and how they can turn that into humor. It is no mistake at all that by far the funniest moment in the episode, Justin's character Taako interacting with various goblins, comes very near the end, and that ends up being totally supported by an incredible second episode that had me laughing all the way through. All of the McElroys are finding the humor in their game more consistently, but the real star of the show is undoubtedly Griffin, taking on the role of the dungeon master who takes the ridiculous things the players can do and escalate them hugely. Someone who has listened to the second episode could not possibly deny that Griffin is the key to just how successful the bits in this episode are. I'm so on-board for more, it's a shame it will only be every other week but it seems super likely that they'll be incredible every time they come.Read full review »

It’s like a MBMBAM episode but the whole thing is one big sketch. It’s hilarious and well edited, and probably my new favorite podcast.
