Hard to listen to
The narrator puts emphasis on so many words that they lost impact. It was as if the manuscript had at least one word italicized in every sentence. Rather than making every sentence intense, this would just make a book more difficult to read. Combine this with the fact that he spoke very quickly, and you have a narrative that is very difficult to follow. I wanted to give the story a proper review, but I confess that I turned it off after listening to only a few minutes of the prologue. If another version is released that is voiced by somebody with experience narrating audiobooks, I'd love to give it a listen.

More reviews of The Ancient
Awesome idea to unveil a book chapter by chapter on a podcast. Can’t wait to hear what happens next!

Readers move through this genre on a torrid search for something special. Writers write because they know we are all looking for Tolkien again. This show does a great service of bringing The Ancient to a new audience! Love it!
