Great history podcast
This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite history podcast. Rather than following a chronology we instead get an eclectic mix of various topics, from horse archery to Hadrian’s Wall, from ancient Polynesian navigation techniques to war elephants, all consisting of interviews of scholars in each field, none yet who are anything close to being boring. Great guests and great topics.

More reviews of The Ancients
Rosemary Sutcliffe was one of my favourite books when a child and got me into history. The chap taking about the Legion is utterly boring, non stop monologue droning on and on.. Rosemary will always be the best... Usually excellent podcasts - this was a switch off

Very much enjoying this podcast, though sadly have listened to all episodes, some twice during our Californian fires and global pandemic. You have filled in many gaps and curiosities in my historic understanding. Thank you for producing this.

I’m interested in ancient history and like the way this podcast casts a light on areas I’ve not thought about before. The episodes on elephants in ancient warfare and on chemical and biological weapons were particularly enlightening.
