“Really enjoying The Ancients podcast and the insight gained from listening to the guest speakers.
With only a layman’s knowledge of History you can still get a lot out of these episodes. Tristan presents the subject of each episode very well and asks the right questions to delve gradually deeper into history without getting too technical or bogged down with dates and statistics. He lets the guest speakers do the talking and always spurs the conversations on to the most interesting parts of the human story.
It’s very refreshing to hear about the lesser known peoples and periods of history, which I find so much more interesting than the stuff you learn in school (not the Tudors again!) I’ve especially enjoyed the episodes about early human species and the Palaeolithic.
