Lovely, yet a little monotonous
John Green uses fancy words for normal phenomena, and sensationalizes small things that happen. He also talks about abstract concepts in depth, adding layers of meaning to them. You could criticize him for this, but you could also look at it as being beautifully poetic. I mean this in the best of ways - this would be an excellent podcast to fall asleep to. It reminds me of one of those guided voice meditations, where you close your eyes and imagine what the voice is describing. I do found, however, that I had to focus to hear every word of this podcast, since there are a lot of words and much of it is abstract. I’m giving this podcast three stars because the words spoken are clear and the concepts described beautiful and decently interesting, however it lacks a dynamic element, like having different voices or any sound effects. If it’s the kind of thing where you just want to be relaxed though, and you are a good listener, this is the perfect podcast for you.
