I really like the intonation and the way he speaks. It is so comfortable to listen to. I like the honesty in regards to the raw process of composing itself. I am certainly going to follow him on the Internet.

Wow! It was fantastic to hear an interview with Samuel Adler. Keep up the good work! Listening on my coffee break from writing my own compositions in the south east of England.

Though the echo on music is corny the rest of the content is beneficial. The interviews are informative. Keep in mind that these are made to direct you to the courses which allow you to put the theory into practice. There will be an encouragement for you to start and keep writing.

This podcast is a fantastic resource! I'm a composer and it helped me view various concepts in different ways and also functioned as a good refresher in some areas. Here's to hoping for many more episodes to come!

This podcast is very well produced, informative and concise. There are episodes on basic harmony and orchestration, and some interviews with established composers and music theorists. All great content. As more and more of the basics are covered I'd like to learn with examples of how great...Read full review »

Just started listening and have found this series a great way to get going. Motivational and with helpful concepts and small things that are overlooked. Had a roadblock over a melody but finished it while listening to episode three. What more can I say.

As someone who has been composing for a few years, and is quite familiar with theory, one thing I've really appreciated about this podcast is Jon's focus on the approach and mindset of being a composer, as opposed to just musical techniques. He helps to set you up for making quick progress and...Read full review »

Finally found someone who can explain in a linear and logical way the steps to take to start composing and putting together the pieces of music theory into something musical! This information just does NOT exist anywhere else (unless you want to pay 30,000 dollars a year for music school)

I know a lot of technology tools for this, but that’s nuts and bolts. The process of becoming an artisan, maybe even an artist, is discussed too little. I’m thankful for this assist in cutting the mountain down to size.

This podcast is very well done. Jon explains his ideas very clearly, and they make a lot of sense.
