Often fascinating but sometimes cringy
Highly enjoyable love letter to old Hollywood, film noir, obscure movies and lost to radio shows. The host, though a gifted writer and archivist, fancies himself a comedian of sorts, and he repeats the same weak jokes and songs every episode. It’s truly cringe making and just invites the skip forward button heavy usage. Comedy, when done well, hits the mark. When done badly, it misses. This misses about 20% of every podcast. An otherwise excellent production though, and represents a good deal of hard work and deep research.
