For a good cause, however....
As a textual critic Dr Ehrman is a among the very best. However, his grasp of historical methods and process is questionable to say the least. This leads him to some strange conclusions regarding New Testament characters. It must not be easy being an atheist bible scholar, perhaps that is why he clings to some of his historical notions, as he can’t quite accept that all those years of study and work were for a cause which didn’t really exist. It’s worth repeating that Dr Ehrman is a world class textual scholar, who I humbly submit, needs to learn the methods of historical inquiry (which to be fair he would never learn or need to know in theological classes) Thank-you.
