Rehashes same arguments of other angry atheists and agnostics
Mike tries to be a "nice guy", but he just rehashes the same shallow atheist arguments. He's disingenuous in that he suggests he wants to have a dialogue, when in fact he simply wants to prove himself right and others wrong. He should just be honest and say this: "I want to repeatedly prove that Christians are wrong and I'm morally superior to them." He's trying very hard to justify his self-righteous anti-Christian stance. (Maybe because he still feels some deep-seated leftover guilt from leaving his Christian faith, and so he's going as far as he can the other way to demonstrate his moral superiority and self-righteousness, who knows ...) There are plent of Christian scholars who have easily debated the points he presents, and he could readily go and read up on those, but that isn't the point of this podcast. The point is for him and fellow former Christians who have become agnostic or atheists to feel that they are morally superior by twisting the bible and misrepresenting the words of his guests. If you are an atheist or agnostic who hates Christianity, or better yet, an angry former Christian, this podcast is for you, you'll feel heard and validated, smug and self-righteous. Kudos to him for knowing his audience and pandering to them.Read full review »

He can’t seem to comprehend the points made by his guests (or maybe he won’t for the sake of making the podcast more inflammatory or interesting). Needlessly condescending, he perpetuates the stereotype that atheists are just angry at...Read full review »

Michael gets down and dirty with pastors asking them about the actual words in the Bible. He doesn't always get the best answers but it's all about the learning. You don't see it but dude's got a killer beard.Read full review »

Mike’s method is effective and respectful. My new favorite podcast! Mike is like Colombo with theists. His technique is right on point. And he does it in a nice respectful way…often getting believers to admit that their faith is based on ridiculousness. Weak believers get upset and run off....Read full review »
