Listening to the history of the Inner Belt and how the politically powerful stopped its construction is a lesson for all. Political power is the key. The unfortunate working class people of Somerville in the Nunnery grounds fought to stop the section proposed for their neighborhood. There was no power base and the neighborhood was decimated. Frank Salvucci was happy for his neighbors and friends but 319 families lost their homes and 90 businesses in Somerville were relocated. G Dwyer.

I didn’t grow up in the US but I got emotional listening to part I. The grass root movement, the going from neighborhood to neighborhood and growing a coalition, the quintessential American way of questioning the government - and being heard! It’s democracy at its finest.
