Jonathan Wilson brings to life the ideals of The Beautiful Game
Contemporary sport is plagued by modern fandom, and the need for instant gratification. This is supported by tabloid journalism and the art of the "headline". We are surrounded by a cacophony of reductive analysis and reasoning, which is then masqueraded as purposed fact. This leads to The Beautiful Game becoming a corpse, unable to fully realise the life it can have. People no longer yearn for what The Beautiful Game brings to the world, they want goals and fancy tricks, as Jonathan Wilson bravely states against the tempest of 21st century reductivism, "Goals are overrated, football's beauty is in the struggle." What The Blizzard does is fight against the tide, to bring meaningful discussion to an arena which has lacked true definition.
