Storytelling At Its Finest
Jeff and Eric have done a masterful job of peeling back all of the layers in narrating this seminal part of rap’s history that might have otherwise slipped through the cracks and gone unreported, if not for them. Each episode is better than the one before it. Much respect also to Greg Mayo who had the unenviable task of putting so many different genres of music into the score and yet he nailed it anyway. This is their love letter to a culture that for some reason still has some critics questioning their motives and bonafides. At the very least, this is their thank-you to the culture that they’ve managed to make a living from due to their passion for it. These guys have never cut corners in anything they’ve done and the Blog Era is a perfect example of that.
