The Intellectual ASOIAF Podcast
I listen to three A Song of Ice and Fire podcasts and each are very different. A Podcast of Ice and Fire is a podcast for the ASOIAF fandom. The four hosts are crazy characters who enjoy discussing crackpot theories, highlighting little details you may have missed in your first reading, cracking sex jokes, and exploring the lore of Martin's world. The Night's Watch podcast focuses strictly on the TV show and reminds me of hearing two guys talk about Game of Thrones in a bar after work. The Boiled Leather Audio hour is my favorite of the three. Intellectual and almost academic, Sean and Stefan have very 21st century discussion of George R.R. Martin's novels, analyzing issues of justice, morality, violence, etc. Their episodes are meaty, but unlike say A Podcast of Ice and Fire they are concise and to the point. It is truly an hour of audio. The hosts also do good work outside of the podcast. I enjoy reading Sean's Game of Thrones review in Rolling Stones and thoroughly enjoyed Stefan's Q&A blog.Read full review »
