George McCalman is an artist and creative director out of San Fransico. George works as a graphic design instructor, illustrator for the Observed column in the San Fransico Chronicle, and is currently working on his first book Illustrated Black History. In addition, George runs his own design studio, working with clients to create their own brand identity.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness month. In this episode Martha Omilian explains how her daughter Maggie Wardle was murdered in October of 1999. Martha has turned that tragedy into Remembering Maggie, a non-profit, that sells knitted hats to raise funds to help educate young people about healthy relationships.
