“You have a platform and because of the patriarchy we live in, for a number of reasons it’s much more difficult for a woman to write a book and when she does, it’s more difficult to get press around it and even more difficult for other humans to believe she’s smart, brilliant, even worthy of being supported as a writer/expert. BUT these things are socially constructed and until men with platforms go above and beyond to include women on their lists of “experts” to take advice from, we will not be able to correct this- it’s important to correct it. There could be more equality or we took more time to find females doing exceptional work and brought it to the forefront rather than just looking to our left and right and people who look like us and supporting them because it’s easier and they’re already getting tons of acclaim. Please make an effort to read as many books by women as you do by men. Thankyou”
