A fantastic and compelling audio mystery
I'm currently 5 episodes into the first season of The Call of The Void and I am enjoying it thoroughly. I listen to a lot of audio dramas and this one holds it own with the best of them. The production value is fantastic and sounds up there with the higher budgets audio dramas you would find on BBC Sounds or from QCODE. All three of the main characters are played well and the burgeoning relationships between them are really interesting. I particularly like Etsy and the way the writer's have built her to be unclear in her motivations. Is she friend or foe? Can we trust her? I can't wait to find out. The team use sound design brilliantly to provide scares and to create an uneasy and unnerving atmosphere. There's one particular moment when the characters are interviewing a gentleman who has recently gone blind and the scene takes a sudden turn that was truly chilling. I am really enjoying The Call of The Void and couldn't recommend it enough to anybody looking for a compelling audio mystery to pass the time.Read full review »
