“I enjoyed this a lot — it’s a great binge. Their adaptation of Lovecraft’s stories (two of my favourite) is clever in bringing them into the modern world and casting it as a “true crime” podcast investigation, even though I’m finding that genre increasingly irritating. It does alter some important features of both stories, which are the things that made both stories more unsettling and horrific — if you liked this podcast, check out the original stories as you’ll get a different experience. It becomes more X-Files than Lovecraftian as a result. Despite this, there was enough mystery and intrigue to keep me engaged. I’d be keen on hearing more.”
