Just fantastic!
I love this show! Since starting a new job, and taking the long car journey from Glasgow to Edinburgh every morning Neil and his guests have become one of my most trusted and reliable ‘get me throughs’. As a club player (at Cathcart Chess Club), so far this season I am yet to lose a game. While I can’t say for certain which aspect of my game should take sole credit for this feat, and I have even beaten a 1750 rated player I should add, one thing that is for sure is that all the many aspects of my study and lifestyle are contributing. Mainly I would say the Chess Angle has hugely contributed to my keeping an interest in the game, and also inspired me to study harder. I just love the show though, fantastic wit and humour, and really enjoyable listening. It never gets boring. I could write more and more, but as a busy adult I probably should return to the flow. One other thing I want to say though, been reading the Jeremy Silman amateurs mind book, and you’re right this is an excellent book. During competitive play I have found myself realigning my thoughts in middle game positions and using Silmans advice on where to look for progress. I look forward to hearing more podcasts, I think I am about halfway. This is a remarkable collection of recordings Neil, I really congratulate you on this and also wish you a win on the next game. Cheers, Graeme

This is probably my favorite chess podcast. The content and presentation are excellent - well organized, and lots on no-nonsense, practical advice. I like the mix of solo and interview episodes. Well produced and highyl professional. Recommended!!

I last played chess on my high school team and have recently returned after nearly a 40 year hiatus. Upon my return I was overwhelmed by the abundance of material that is “out there” and was really clueless on how to go about retooling my game. That is where this podcast comes in.
