“The first two episodes of this radio play are excellent. The story is already phenomenal, unraveling more and more clues about the characters (Tess and Laura, played wonderfully by Eboni Booth and Mary Cavett), their past, and their budding relationship with one another.
The fictional city state of Mastavia, however, is to me the most intriguing and mystifying character of them all. The more is revealed about its history, its inhabitants, and their bizarre culture and kafkaesque bureaucracy, the more you’ll be eager to know.
This play reminds me of a good Borges story: evocative, ingenious, charming, and timeless.
An amazing work of art by Mathew Capodicasa!”
