Was getting ready to run a game or Blades in the Dark so I started with their other AP the Magpies, I enjoyed it so much I had to follow them into the future and find out what sort of shenanigans their new crew would get up to in the Imperial City. I love how invested all the players are in the...Read full review »

Great podcast! I’m reading the rule book to GM my own game. Perfect podcast to see the rules being illustrated and the players are very funny

Rhi and company have just gotten this up and running, but it is easy to see how stellar this podcast is and will continue to be. The storytelling and narrative are immersive, and the players are totally bought into and take part in crafting the narrative. Highly recommended for all.

The City that Never Dies is absolutely wonderful. The PCs are some of the funniest role players I’ve listened to, but have the gravity to land the serious emotional beats. The GM is amazing at rolling with the various surprises thrown at them by the players and creates a vibrant and detailed...Read full review »

This show is equal parts exciting and heart warming. Great production value and audio quality. The setting is super interesting and both the gm and each player are engaging and fun to listen to. I’d give the show 10 stars if I could.

A great follow up to the Magpies BitD actual play, with a new set of characters (and a new player) and a new setting. Excellent listening because the system (Blades in the Dark) is great, but even more: the players take it seriously while also obviously enjoying the creation of their shared...Read full review »

A fitting sequel to the Magpies, this series is set in Imperial City in the Prohibition era equivalent. “Let’s get started, shall we?” Great storytelling by the GM and the crew. Memorable characters, imaginative scores, highly entertaining.

Following up on their excellent Magpies podcast, the group plays Blades in the Dark with a twist. Their series is set in empire's capital, and takes place in the equivalent of the Prohbition. The story follows great characters as they try to make and sell enough moonshine to pay off their...Read full review »

The cast of Magpies (plus newcomer Aki) continues on with this superb successor to the Magpies' adventures in Duskwall. In The City That Never Dies, the action moves to Imperial City, the heart of the Empire, with a new cast of scoundrels trying to get rich or die trying. It's still...Read full review »

I fell in love with this gm and group of players while listening to their previous actual play The Magpies. This new project is just as good! My absolute favorite podcast. Thank you!

You can tell a lot of talent has gone into crafting this cast of charming characters, and a lot of work has gone into building a world that’s dark and dangerous while maintaining a vibrant sense of life and excitement.

The cast and creators of the Magpies have hit another home run with this podcast. The 1920s plus found families plus queer thieves equals a story I can't get enough of.Read full review »

This show is an absolute delight from the very beginning. An actual play TTRPG show using the Blades in the Dark system, it's got characters who are outside the law pulling heists like you'd expect, but this campaign takes you to Imperial City, in an time period that recalls the decadence...Read full review »

The Clever Corvids crew play a fantastic quartet of stylish criminals, every one of whom is a delight in every scene. The mashup of the spooky atmosphere of Blades with the cold ectoplasmic light of the roaring 20s gives the setting a unique flair. Rhi’s genius for crafting heists is on full...Read full review »

I've always heard great things about Clever Corvid Productions first show The Magpies, and have been eagerly waiting for the launch of this second Blades in the Dark show. Following the end of their previous BitD podcast - the excellent Magpies - our Clever Corvids return with this Roaring 20's inspired take on the setting, in a whole new location built from the ground up. The storycraft honed so well during the Magpies is on show here from the very start - Rhi...Read full review »
