While he wrote chiefly in the realm of speculative fiction, he also worked in other genres, including horror, mystery, and coming of age fiction.  His best-known works include the novel Fahrenheit 451, his collections of short stories, The Martian Chronicles and The Illustrated Man, and the speculative horror novel Something Wicked This Way Comes.
