“Like master distillers, Nate and Ben condense the essential, filter out the impure, and produce a focused product that expresses both character and truth. With thousands of pre-prints, news feeds, and conspiracy theories bombarding the typical doom scroller these days, Covid Daily News manages to extract, then deliver, information that is refined and nuanced.
Other Podcast are important, but only as supplements, to Covid Daily News. Osterholm delivers a jarring dose of reality, once a week, kind of like an 80-proof Irish Whisky or a New-World Cab that punches you right in the face. His podcasts tend to be one-dimensional and somwhat dogmatic. He is clearly qualified, but, from my position as a listener, being reminded of the fact that he worked on every major pandemic, under every administration, for the past 20-years, has become tiring. The TWIV crew drills down on certain scientific issues and their clinical sessions with Dr. Daniel Griffin have no equal. These guys are hard-core, true scientists. They are Barolo. Islay. Quality, but only for a special occassion.
Covid Daily News is the Podcast that that takes it home four days a week. My daily drinker. What I listen to when I am on the deck every night trying to come to terms with everything.
I wish I could Venmo or Zelle some cash to these guys, but alas, I am a struggling gig-worker (entry level-Somm/Boat Captain) and my wife's pay as front-line job as a nurse's assistant is less than I made painting and landscaping my way through college back in the 90s.
