A Weird Meditation
There’s a story JK Rowling likes to tell.. Not that one, another one.. About how she met the inspiration for Hagrid, a giant bushy bearded man who was drinking next to her in a small country pub. I believe we can now safely say that rural man of mystery has re-emerged from obscurity with these dispatches from the edge of comprehension. Lovingly rendering odd near-possible beings in a manner reminiscent of Pratchett, Adams and Valentte, the format of these short episodes interspersed with poetry, work wonderfully as an aid to meditation. Encouraging contemplating beings, and realities different from us, and yet achingly similar. As the man says; We are all strange animals, so act like it.
