Great insights but flawed
I really appreciate the stoic insights and ideas. I have purchased multiple books by Ryan Holiday. The philosophy has been immensely helpful to me personally. The two main issues I have with the podcast are: 1) Ads - I understand you need to generate income to make it worth your while. But ads are sometimes very out of place in the middle of a deep, thoughtful conversation and disrupt the podcast. Sometimes the ads alone are a large chunk of the shorter episodes. 2) Too preachy - Ryan tends to get up on his high horse and even tell his listeners to unsubscribe if they disagree with his opinion. His political biases shine through occasionally. And he seems to cal into a same trap that many other do - equating his political positions with righteousness. It comes through in an off putting and combative way. I would love to hear his further thoughts on this. Maybe I’m missing something. But it seems like his anger and self righteousness is causing him to alienate many listeners. If Ryan’s goal is to further promote and share the ideas of stoicism to people from various backgrounds, I think adjusting the above would be a step in the right direction.

I enjoy how this podcast not only talks about the ancient wisdom of the Stoics, but also uses examples from recent history or today of people applying the same principles.
