Glorifies the killer too much
Sometimes podcasts give a little too much detail about the crimes and end up glorifying the killers even though they may not intend to. This podcast gives a bit too much detail that is unnecessary to understand the story and it ended up making me feel gross like I’m listening to “murder porn.” Instead of helping find justice for victims and stopping criminals being the main focus- this veers back and fourth between Rodney and the detective on the case, at times almost making Rodney sound like a protagonist of the story. I understand the objective of getting inside a killer’s mind, but some of the details like: ****SPOILER***** “Forcefully inserting his tongue into her mouth”, “her” being a thirteen year old girl, made me turn off the second episode half way through. I’ve listened to several podcasts that have episodes on Rodney Alcala that were tastefully told. I feel like the way this is told may empower or encourage people who enjoy this sort of criminal behavior even if it was not meant to.

Very interesting story but it’s impossible to follow with the IPhone ringing in the background. No reason for it! Had to quit.
