“It’s every creator’s right to monetize as they wish, but I just find David is getting excessive…
The YouTube monetization alone would be quite substantial and would probably be sufficient, but he had to add multiple commercial breaks full of cheesy sponsors from viagra-type medications to mattresses to vitamin supplements and more. Then not only that, he still has to go and beg regularly for you to join his bonus show with a subscription.
Maybe it could all be worth it if the content was better, like quality interviews with prominent political figures (I’m thinking of Bryan Tyler Cohen’s show as a great example of this), but it’s all just David’s opinion. (Yes I know, it’s an “opinion” show, but still). And then some episodes have so much filler with the audience questions which is pretty useless in my view.
I used to watch/listen a lot more than I do now, but I find I’m getting better news and better quality analysis from other shows like BTC.”
