“I have listened to other true crime podcasts, including Crime Junkies, but I found this “investigation” problematic. These are podcasters who, other than Emily, I don’t believe actually have training as journalists. I understand that they have the blessing of the family to look into this case, but it seems like true journalistic ethics would bar you from publicizing the names of “suspects” without further proof. I do think there is a benefit to podcasters looking into cold cases, especially when they have the audience of these podcasters, but it seems there is a more ethical way to go about it.”
