I wanted to like this podcast
I am very interested in the subject matter that this podcast deals with. I am going through a complete deconstruction/reconstruction of my faith and beliefs, and I love listening to and reading about the subject. The name of this podcast caught my eye, and I was hoping that it would offer some thought provoking content. Alas, I was mistaken. The hosts just graze the surface on the topics that they cover. Many of the topics that they address have great potential, but lack the depth that I was hoping for. They jump from one thing to another while just scratching the surface on each topic. Much of the time they throw in some random "mind blowing" quote from a book they are reading, and instead of going deeper into what the author was talking about, they jump right into this, high fiving, groaning, chest bumping, bro fest about how mind blowing the quote was for them. The most distracting part of the podcast definitely has to be how hyper and enthusiastic the hosts are. Enthusiasm is great, but they take it way to far. When someone says something that they agree with, something that resonates with them, it sounds like they are having an orgasm... I'm fine with getting excited about a topic or some quote that you like, but the extent to which they take it starts to sound like nails on a chalk board. I was excite to listen to the interviews with some of the people that they have slotted for upcoming podcast, but I can't seem to get past the hyper a.d.d. Nature of the hosts.Read full review »

More reviews of The Deconstructionists
Just what was needed to establish a stronger method for developing a solid yet flexible belief system. Happy to have open minds willing to deconstruct and slowly put it back together. There is a beauty in examining each piece and cannot wait to hear more episodes to see how this puzzle unfolds.

I tried. I tried to have an open mind and listen and hear what you have to say. It's just emergent, liberal nonsense. Scripture twisting guests who deny what the Bible says and insert their own God who loves everyone. Also, the hosts have a case of the "yummies." If the hosts...Read full review »

These guys have a lot of great things to share and some really great guests, BUT please stop moaning after every great point. And please don't try to be Rob Bell! We love him but we have him. Just be the host. Just be you, but please stop moaning and acting like every guest is your favorite...Read full review »
