This podcast is one I come back to hoping to see how I will be challenged and encouraged. I just listened to a 2020 episode with Dr. Esau McCaulley and Sheila Wise Rowe. This helped me to think about how to support my brothers and sisters in ministry with paying attention and beginning healing of...Read full review »

Sharing thanks for the “Dreaming of a Not-White Christmas” series! We have gained meaningful new perspective on how we in America typically celebrate Christmas and how we can do it better from this collaboration between Nancy Wang Yuen & Jemar Tisby. Hoping for more from this beautiful team!

I’ve been listening to this podcast nearly from the start, but finally felt moved to actually leave a review after listening to the excellent conversation with Min Jin Lee. Highly recommend this podcast (both with past and present host). Thanks for bringing these conversations together.

I loved Esau McCauley as host and was sorry he had to move on to new projects, but I’m loving Nancy Yuen now too. I was so thrilled that Nancy had Gene Yang, author of American Born Chinese, on the show. Great discussion!

As a white woman, this podcast might not be targeted directly at me, but it has deeply impacted my life still. The interviews with Esau have taught me about what it means that church is multicultural, the black concerns that might exist in my church which I’ve never considered, and also how to...Read full review »

Appreciate the adept handling of our “we moderns are so much better than those others are/were” / “progressive = automatically better simply because it’s progressive” attitudes of theological and cultural superiority.

Brother Esau, I was turned on to you and your writing from other podcasts. I’m so glad you are here hosting The Disrupters. As a lifelong (46 years) Christian, I need to hear you. I need to speak to the issues of race in the church. Our God and Father created us all as His children and in His...Read full review »

So thankful for how this podcast is helping me think about the Bible and my Christian faith in new ways, related to many issues but most especially related to the ongoing racism in our world and the church.

One of my favorite things about this show is how Esau and co balance joy and sorrow. As a Christian and as a minister in a large, mostly white evangelical church, I find Esau’s conversations very stimulating, informative, sometimes troubling, but always helpful. In an era of racial and political polarization, I find hope and direction in these voices. Lead on!

I left the church at15 years old. That church was the Epitome. I tried the Catholic Church and I left that Church. I tried the Jewish and I left at 18 . I tried the Buddhist temple and liked it to a point and. I really connect with the practice. I became a nondenominational minister in 92. I...Read full review »

As a socially conscious white Christian, I needed to hear this podcast. Too often we pigeon hole others and think they need to believe just as we do if they are truly Christian. How wrong we are!
