“I'd actually stopped watching Dr Who, I'll be honest, when Capaldi left and they cast a woman. Tar and feather me, I don't care. To quote Padme in Revenge of the Sith "you're going down a path that I can't follow." But, not wantng to be a miserable Tony Abbot or Kevin Rudd style ghost I left the fandom quite happy to move on with my life and leave those still interested to enjoy their show. And that was that until, about 3 years later "The Timeless Child" crash landed. I was seeing outrage from everywhere! Show ruined forever and wondered to myself "Could it really be thath bad?" So I decided to fin a Primary Source, so to speak, in podcast land and this was the one that came up. Two Aussies, like myself, having a reasonable and balanced conversation about this controversial episode. "Hey," I thought to myself "These two are rational actors."
Over the next few months I went back and listened to their entire back catalogue and these two are excellent. Wonderful chemistry together and engaging conversation about a range of topics, sometimes covering entire eras of the show and sometimes an in depth analysis of a single EDA novel. You never feel like the podcast is a two man echo chamber as they disagree on plenty and both have tolerance for different opinions. Rob and Dave understand their medium and I haven't missed a show (apart from the hot takes) since finding it those 2-3 years ago. It's kept me connected to the fandom in some small way and finally replaced the dearly departed Doctor Who Podcast (yes, I know they're recording some episodes again, but where's Trevor?) as my Doctor Who podcast of choice.”Read full review »
