Insightful and crass
The podcast provides an unvarnished examination of the lives and times of people with unusual or strange stories. He generally keeps the conversation lively and cracks quips and jokes to lighten the story. However, these stories can be intense. I can't necessarily stop listening until I am nearly driven to vomiting and then I pause for a moment before going on. What has that show? Jerry springer? I wish it was the Doug Stanhope show instead. However, I'd amp the quality control just a little. I'd make certain parts less disgusting and crass and just easier to hear. But Stanhope is a maverick comedian who does things his way. No comedian matches his insight (with rare exceptions) or his blunt and direct manner about potentially disgusting or sensitive topics.Read full review »
